MINI MUSICAL THEATER

Young performers will be able to discover the world of musical theatre and begin to build their tap repitoir. Come join us to build confidence and express yourself! This introductory course is intended to teach the basics of theatre through creative play using curriculum based on K-3rd grade standards. Simple vocal exercises will be added where they will know how to safely warm up and project. They will learn choreography numbers with TA guidance and start to understand concepts like musicality. Goal is for them to think creatively and on the spot (improv) with movement, dialogue, and vocals. Most importantly we hope that they will build confidence to perform and learn to love the stage.

Ages 4-5 | Tuesdays 3:45-4:30PM

JUNIOR MUSICAL THEATER

Students must be able to read. Begin exploring more musical theatre technical skills within dancing, singing, and acting. Goal is to build towards triple threat skills and prepare them for what auditions are like at MT@ISB. Will explore other audition/show processes to help teach students how to be flexible. For signing they will build towards 2 part harmonies. For dancing they will be able to do a routine with minimal to zero assistance. For acting they will explore simple monologues. Creative play will still be encouraged but will be covering more curriculum based material.

Ages 6-9 | Tuesdays 4:30-5:15PM

INTERMEDIATE MUSICAL THEATER TECHNIQUE

Intermediate to advanced levels of MT. If you are new to the MT program and fall within this age range, we welcome you to try a class. Our instructors are here to support your growth and development. Vocally continue to work towards two part harmonies. Refine your acting and improvisational abilities in preparation for auditions and productions. Broaden your expertise in dance with MT dance and jazz. The tap class for this group is continued through an elective course on a separate day and time. We also encourage triple threat performers to take ballet and contemporary classes to supplement dance training.

 Ages 9-12 | Tuesdays 7:00-8:00PM

TEEN MUSICAL THEATER TECHNIQUE

Advance levels of Intermediate Musical Theater Technique is the MT@ISB touring group, where they will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in performances throughout the community. Vocally continue to work with 3 to 5 part harmonies. Enhance dancing and acting skills, refining the concept of being "prepared for auditions"

Ages 12-18 by Audition Only | Tuesdays 8:00-9:00PM
